At Olympia we have a large treadmill that allows us to carry out stress tests while running, on bicycles, in wheelchairs and even on roller skates or roller skis. It is also possible to run at sprint speed and on a negative slope. All these tests are always carried out following maximum safety measures. We also have a top-of-the-range cycle simulator so that cycling enthusiasts can carry out different functional assessment tests on their own bicycle.

Featured treatments
Our professionals of recognised national and international prestige and with extensive experience in the different fields of sports medicine work with state-of-the-art equipment and alongside the rest of Olympia’s specialists, in order to offer a personalised assessment, a more accurate diagnosis and early and effective treatment.
- Medical-sports assessment before starting a physical or sports activity or taking part in any event or competition, including the determination of suitability for general or specific sports and signing of medical licences or certificates in apparently healthy people or those with an illness.
- Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries.
- Cardiopulmonary fitness assessment. Gas ergospirometry or stress testing is used to rule out arrhythmias and coronary heart disease, assess heart rate and blood pressure, evaluate lung function, assess maximal and submaximal aerobic fitness and design a training plan adapted to each individual, sport speciality, fitness level and personal goals. It is also used for diagnostic and treatment purposes in problems such as exercise-induced asthma which limits the performance of some athletes, and to determine functional capacity in patients with heart or lung disease. In this way it is possible to design more personalised exercise programmes, assess the effectiveness of certain treatments and even help in decisions relating to the suitability of certain surgical treatments. These tests are generally performed by running on a treadmill or cycling on a cycle ergometer.
- Assessment of blood lactic acid levels in steady state tests to determine submaximal functional capacity and to assist in prescribing ideal training intensities.
- Assessment and prevention of states of fatigue related to physical activity and sport, including blood tests.
- Assessment of the strength of specific muscle groups and body composition.
- Prescription of physical exercise in cardiac, joint and musculoskeletal, metabolic (diabetes), pulmonary diseases, cancer.
